Pre-note: No
WWPLP? for the first time this week...
I can't be a one-trick pony!

Yep. Personally I feel the idea for Episode I may be among the worst of all time.
... I am talking about
Star Trek here mind you.
Sorry if you were expecting some hardcore Lucas Bashing from me. Perhaps some other time. Or not.
Moving on, as I suspect a majority of you don't know - or don't care -
Star Trek XI was recently announced and is planned to be a
prequel to the 1960's
Original Star Trek Series. Thus a young Captain "KHAAAAAAAAAN!!!!" Kirk and Commander "Live Long and Prosper" Spock.
Thus:
Star Trek: Episode I: The Cloaked Terror
Yipes. I'm scared. Very very scared.
The Simpsons gag of "Star Trek XII: So Very Tired" which involved an aging Captain Kirk complaining about his sleeping habits until the Klingons show up...
"Again with the Klingons!"... All may be drawing closer to reality.
All of my fears are rather overridden in the same way my fears were over 7 years ago when Star Wars Episode I was announced... It's Star Trek and it's new. Not many months ago they had announced that Star Trek needed "a long break" mostly due to the cancellation of the Star Trek: Enterprise TV Series (which was a prequel in itself) and the box-office failure of Star Trek X (Nemesis). Now they turn around and do this.
The primary fear is... Who are they going to get to play a convincing young Kirk and Spock? It'll have to be an unknown I think. Thankfully I can accept a new actor playing Kirk or Spock because I've been watching
Star Trek: New Voyages, one of the most impressive fan-fiction projects in existence (perhaps
the most impressive... They're getting the real actors from the real original show to do guest episodes), and it already has two new actors playing the roles... Not perfectly, but they're learning.
I could keep rambling, but I suspect the majority of StarWars.com travelers have no concerns or interests in the affairs of Star Trek... Hopefully a few found it interesting that Star Trek is starting up their own prequel of their original series.
Boldly Go Where No Man Has Gone Before... Well... Actually let's just go back and tell about
why they decided to go where no man has gone before...
before they actually
did it.
Bah. Whatever. Just keep flying... Be it X-Wing, Enterprise, Viper, broomstick, or a mid-bulk transport, class code: 03-K64
