You can watch the entire segment, including Lucas's appearance, here. The duel is separate and viewable
here (linked later on also).
You can catch a higher quality version of ILM's entry to the challenge (
not a contest!) at our own

I've been a devout follower of The Daily Show/Colbert Report Comedy Hour for the past four months or so, so I was aware that they were announcing the winner of the Colbert Green Screen Challenge (
not a contest!) last night. I was, however, completely caught off-guard by Dear Old George's (A title I've reinstated since the Old Timer's Edition of the Original Trilogy was printed on DVD) surprise appearance on the show.
He was actually featured rather briefly because Colbert's latest "Tek Janson Adventure" replaced the interview segment normally on the show. The cartoon was appropriate to show with George there, since it mocks the Adventure Sci-Fi genre, but it's a real shame that the opportunity to have some real fun interviewing Mr. Lucas was wasted.
There was - of course -
some fun
(I find it rather cute that George uses a "Force Push" in the mock battle)
George 1, Colbert 0

The only thing I'm really interested in here is if George is an actual fan of the show? He comes running out and does a fairly clever impersonation of how Colbert normally greets his guests (showy and drawing attention away from the guest) - which seems to catch Colbert off-guard for a moment

I wonder if he picked that up specifically due to his appearing on the show, or if he's an actual long-time viewer. Kinda humanizes rich director folk if they're watching the same show as you, eh?
ILM's entry is obviously the most impressive of the entries and kudos to them for going all out (seemingly going back into the greenscreen archives rather than simply placing Colbert "over" the movie footage with Obi-Wan). As for the Jar Jar segment? Amusing and unexpected that they'd go to that much effort! Is that Ahmed Best doing the voice? It sure sounds like it! The joke about Bush was a bit much for my tastes, but the surprise appearance in itself was wonderful.
Favorite moment - George being "not so sure" if he owned Episode I.
All in all: a pleasant and near jaw dropping suprise. This is why I hate spoilers for books/movies/tv shows, it takes away the fun
