Star Wars: The TV Show: Episode IV
I've been thinking alot about the Star Wars TV Show obviously, so my latest thought was on the format of the show.

Should we go with an adventure setup, where each episode is a seperate story with minimal arcing storylines, such as Star Trek. This would likely be alot of fun, we'd see alot of new planets, characters, and technology. Each episode set up with our intrepid heros defying death each and every week!

We'd probably miss out on character development and deeper storylines that's helped make the films so interesting. Not to say the characters wouldn't be interesting, who doesn't remember say... Scotty from Star Trek? An ongoing storyline offers the benefits of engaging plots, it might just take alot longer to hit the climaxes though.

Also of note is that an ongoing plot through giving the characters more depth and chance to change over time might give the series a more serious feeling, rather than pretty much knowing the good guys will win at the end of the episode, you have an ongoing story so you don't really know what will happen.

So what do you think? Would you perfer an ongoing 100 hour epic (or perhaps one each season), or a new adventure each week?
