Deleted scenes being overhyped?
"The deleted scenes include one that fans have been waiting a long time to see, one that shows Yoda arriving on the swamp planet of Dagobah,"
(quoted from one of today's updates)

Ok, maybe it's just me, but is this taking it a little far?

Don't get me wrong, I'll love to see the 6 new scenes, but Yoda's arrival has been mentioned over and over again... Does anyone really expect it to be anything more than a shot of the ship streaking down, Yoda then getting off and looking around for a few seconds?

The senate scenes will be far more interesting in my opinion since that was basically a whole subplot deleted. (Not to mention Mon Mothma being deleted, which was a nice way to tie the Prequels to Return of the Jedi.)

Do we have a complete list of the scenes yet? We need...
1. Senators in Bail's office.
2. The senators talk about Palpatines leadership and the need for change.
3. The declaration of 2000 confronts Palpatine.
4. Vader killing Shaak Ti, Grevious killing Shaak Ti? Both?
5. Qui-Gon's spirit talks to Yoda? (Liam Neeson never recorded for this, so I don't know how they'd put it in.
6. Yoda's Arrival on Dagobah

I'm sure there's one or 2 more senate scenes I'm forgetting...

So I'm just wondering, why is Yoda landing on some slimey mudhole so important to everyone? :)

There was a scene with senators in Bail's office, a scene with senators in Padme's office, one where Padme presents the Delegation of 2000 to Palpatine, and Vader killing Shaak Ti.

I guess b/c a lot of people like Yoda and it was confusing to them how a great jedi master ended up on a swamp planet like Dagobah, but who really knows. Really I don't care whether they do or don't, but it will still be pretty cool.

It's Yoda!! The once head of the Jedi Order and most powerful of and wise of all the Jedi, is now going to arrive on a planet with no significance or intelligent inhabitants. It's the first place we ever saw him on the big screen!! The irony here is killing me...

Even if we only see him walk off of his ship and look around, it would be that much more special to hear "Yoda's Theme" in the background. Yoda is now firmly planted on Dagobah, waiting for that fateful day for Luke to crash his X-Wing and train with the last remaining Jedi, not to mention Jedi Master.

yoda is just cool, thats all so anything that has to do w/ yoda and the stuff we dont know about him is cool, the senate stuff should have been included, that would have really made the OT tie in very very well

For me I would like to know why Luke looks around when he is on Dagobah and says to R2 " Still there's something familiar about this place" .I mean did Obi-Wan take him there on a field trip as a kid ? Or was Yoda sending him visions his whole life that Luke didn't understand ? After all he didn't even recognize Yoda, but Dagobah was familiar? Hmmm.

Well, for all I know, Yoda went there to mask his force prescence from the emperor. Yoda had once battled a dark warrior there and I believe he died in that tree thing. So Yoda went there. ( -10+10=0)

Kenobi said it best.

It really would connect the saga together even better. And think about it, they need absolutly no actors for the Dagobah scene, they could whip it together relatively fast. Like while after may 19 all the way to now.

i care A LOT for Yoda's scene! (and Qui-Gon)
i was so angry they cut both Qui-Gon & Yoda scenes!

Qui-Gon's words are the key of Spirit and the hope of the future!

and while showing Bail and Obi-Wan, they cut Yoda away!
like Ani said, it is insult!

Yeah when I finished reading the novel and got to the part about Qui-Gon appearing to Yoda I was so happy I thought we were going to see Qui-Gon again, but then I see the movie and they cut it out. How badly does that suck.

Well I think you have to film something to "cut" it, Liam never even came in to film for the Qui-Gon scene. :/

I was just thinking. Yoda is now CG, and im sure they planned on CGingthe ship and planet and stuff. so id it really a "deleted" scene? or just a scene that may have been scripted but never done? because what "real" elements would they have filmed for that scene? i think it will be all CG, yoda, ship and setting.
And honestly i wish this scene was in the film. we see where Bail and Leia end up. we see where Obi-wan and Luke end up. but we dont see where Yoda ends up. he just all of a sudden isnt there. i guess you can argue that its only about the twins and by default we see where Bail and Obi-wan go, but still.

Deleted scenes are never overhyped, they should always be inserted into the movie to give us more SW to watch and love :D See my blog about Ep1 deleted scenes, I plan on writing Ep2 soon and Ep3 in Nov.
