Changes I'd actually like to see.
Following up on my last entry on a change that was definitely not my favorite in the way it was executed I figured I'd do the flip side of that.

The original versions will always hold a special nostalgic place in my heart and hopefully my VHS copies will hold up for many years to come, however with so many changes already made and George Lucas saying he has no plans to sell an older version, here are some changes I'd like to see Episode IV-VI for the 2007 DVD edition or beyond (maybe I'll do a I-III later, but the only thing I can really think of now is making The Phantom Menace Yoda digital, but it sounds like that's going to happen in 2007 anyway :) )

1. Digital redo of the Death Star plans being shown to the Rebel pilots before the attack: The main issue being of course that the Super-laser in entirely the wrong area (Plans show it centered on the trench, rather than in the upper hemisphere), but it also needs a bit of a graphical update in my opinion, it should still look.... blueprintish, but perhaps something along the lines of the Attack of the Clones style and detail is in order. (When the Geonosian leader gives the Death Star Plans to Count Dooku).

2. Full Saber Overhaul: Over the years of upgrades the lightsabers in the classic trilogy have become.... muddled (especially in the 2004 DVD's causing the sabers to have no cores at times). I suppose it might be trouble to restore now since I'm sure it would take an impossible effort to go back to the original cuts and rotoscope prequel quality sabers digitally, but I'm sure color correction wouldn't be all that hard from the current 2004 editions. Vader shouldn't have a pink saber! :p

3. The replacing of Hayden Christian's last minute cut and paste head with a new version that he's actually filming specifically for the scene and can mimic Shaw's old actions.

4. Redo of the "Space Worm/Slug" the Falcon escapes from in Empire Strikes Back, perhaps even including the inside of the mouth shot, it just doesn't look very monstrous to me. ;)

5. Digital correction of reversed frames (some of these were fixed in the 2004 DVD's). Many of the scenes in IV-VI were mirrored because... they look better with Vader on the right instead of the left, and such. It's a little thing and probably hard to fix, but Vader's buttons switching around every few scenes is a bit annoying :| (This could also be included on a I-III list)

All I can think of for now, feel free to add your own, I'm sure I'm forgetting MANY things that could be improved without damaging the films core.
