I picked the most appropriate image for Firefly I could find, but I think This Image may be better

So unlike many I haven't seen Joss Whedon's Serenity yet.

I'm dying to once I finish seeing the TV series it was based off though. Firefly.

For those unaware it's been airing Fridays on SciFi channel.

If you haven't already, do yourself a favor and see the show, I don't care if you buy the DVD set, see it on Sci-Fi like me, or *cough*other methods.

Just see it.

SPOILERS of my favorite scenes lie below: Caution to those that haven't seen the show.

Now don't get me wrong, I still love Star Wars, but to be honest Firefly is everything the Star Wars Prequels weren't. Great acting, writing (thusly character depth), and most importantly it actually makes you care what happens to the characters.

It's really the humor that's won me over,

[After returning the medicine, Zoë brings a bound Niska henchman before Mal outside the ship.]
Mal: Now this is all the money Niska gave us in advance. You bring it back to him, tell him the job didn't work out.
[Henchman Crow spits.]
Mal: We're not thieves. [pauses] Well, we are thieves. Point is, we're not takin' what's his. Now, we'll stay out of his way as best we can from here on in. You explain that that's best for everyone, okay?
[Crow defiantly stands.]
Crow: Keep the money. Use it to buy a funeral. It doesn't matter where you go, or how far you fly. I will hunt you down, and the last thing you see will be my blade.
Mal: Darn.
[Mal kicks Crow toward the engine; Crow is sucked into the intake. Cut to Zoë bringing a second bound henchman before Mal.]
Mal: Now this is all the money Niska gave us in advance...
Henchman: [quickly] Oh, I get it. I'm good. Best thing for everyone. I'm right there with you.

That scene right there is the best example (thus far, I haven't seen the last 4 episodes) of why I love Firefly. Another being in last night's episode "War Stories"

[The rescue team comes upon Mal struggling with his torturer.]
Zoë: This is something the Captain has to do for himself.
Mal: No! No, it's not!
Zoë: Oh!
[Zoë, Jayne and Wash shoot the torturer.]

I hope you have seen the series because words alone just can't describe how great the short lived series is.

I suppose this is Star Wars.com so I probably won't offer many more thoughts on Firefly except after I see the film.

Now then, can we please get Joss Whedon to run the upcoming Star Wars TV Series?
