I was just looking at the "Feature list" for the RotS DVD on Amazon.com and lo and behold "DVD-ROM content includes a free trial of Hyperspace, the ultimate online Star Wars experience"

This doesn't indicate how long the trial is it could be the traditional 7-day trial already plaguing us with repetitive queries and polls (though mods are doing a better job at closing these down, thanks Moose, Mike, and everyone else lurking in the shadows!). It could however be a 30-day trial, not unlikely since this will be a "paid" free trial provided by the DVD.

Isn't this just asking for more problems here in the great fields of blogging? Now, not only will we be cultivated (ok, dropping the farm metaphor now) by people already browsing the site grabbing the trial, but by every Joe Somebody picking up the DVD with a drive.

We have gotten some new good bloggers through the trial system, and those that don't join fade away after a week so the problem isn't really growing, but the potential here is for people who have never even been to Starwars.com before asking questions for a month each.

Maybe I'm just tired of seeing 25 word "Did Plaguis create Anakin?" blogs followed 2 hours later by a 11 word "Sorry guys, this is my last blog, my trial is up" blog.

So again, personally I think restrictions need to placed on trial members for Blogs. Such as "Only 1 blog postable per day", other suggestions are welcome.
