Star Wars: Episode CXII
Well, that might be exactly what you would have seen if Star Wars had developed into a Flash Gordon type series (which is what it was inspired by in the first place).

So what if the Original Trilogy had been a TV series?

Episode XXXVII: Kenobi's Destiny!

Would there have been one of those really dramatic narrators? "What could dear old Ben be doing holding up his lightsaber like that? Could this really be the end of our beloved Jedi Master of the force? Will Darth Vader hold the entire galaxy in his grasp without restraint!?! Find out next week on.... STAR WARS"

The special effects would have been far worse of course, and every episode would have to end with some sort of cliffhanger. Personally I'm glad they were movies, still interesting to think about though.

Do you think Star Wars would have managed to be as long lasting as say... Star Trek if it had been a TV series? Hm... lots of things to go on, what are your thoughts?

This also brings up some thoughts on the Star Wars TV series that really is coming.... *begins writing next blog*

The original Tek was only 3 years. (much to my disapointment) Next Generation, Deep Space Nine and Voyager all lasted nine years, and that's not too shabby! I'm not sure about Enterprise. I know this is it's fianl year, but how many? I do think there would have been a deep voiced. cheesy narrator. It would even have been cool to have the fight scenes punctuated by cartton shots of explosions and blasts like in the old Bat Man show. Holy smokes Han, I think they're gonna get us!!!

Did some looking, indeed Star Trek: The Original, lasted 3 years. Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, and Voyager all lasted seven years each, Enterprise recently ended at a total of 4. That's 28 seasons total! Wow, I'm a fair bit of a Star Trek fan too, I've probably seen most of them, didn't seem like that many spread out over so much time! And now you've got me imagining the Darth Vader Obi-Wan fight Batman style lol.

I just realized I wrote nine instead of seven. I am definitely a trekker.I have been to afew conventions and love it! I never watched Enterprise, but I've seen all the others.
I think a t.v. show like that would be great. I know a lot of kids who would watch. It would actually be alittle like Clone Wars but live action! I would love it!

i figure that they should make timothy zahn's heir to the empire trilogy into episodes 7, 8, and 9 in movie form...maybe in another 10 or 20 years. if there ever was episodes 7,8, and 9 they should be it

Well that's another topic entirely, might have to write something about it later.

The topic does become a little more interesting somewhat if you think of it as "What if Star Wars was re-done as a TV show now", but I was mostly focusing on if it had always been done like that, I suppose I might need to edit it to make that point clear.

I didn't mention much about budget, but now I'm thinking along with the Batman style lightsaber fights, you'd have stage hands constantly accidently being in frame, and all the lightsaber noises being made by some guy off stage (preferably George Lucas :p )

HEEEEEEEEEEEEEECK NO!!!! Star Wars as a tv series would have been awful.

i figure that they should make timothy zahn's heir to the empire trilogy into episodes 7, 8, and 9 in movie form...maybe in another 10 or 20 years. if there ever was episodes 7,8, and 9 they should be it

I don't think that's a good idea because the actors are too old and Lucas already locked up the rights. Not to say I haven't thought about that though.

ok first off i am a ST fan and SW fan but i know when no to put the one on the other.... OMG that is really bad, anyways I think now that if Star wars was to be turned into a tv series would be better. and to have narrator be like a vader voice or a stromtrooper voice would be cool. the best thing about the tv seires is we can fill in the gaps between each EP i.e. the SOTE and the others that fall in between the others anyways this is darth shaggy bowing OUT
