That rocked.

I just got into Firefly a few weeks ago. But I was still worried that in the 3-year gap between Firefly and Serenity being made, they'd forget how it's done. They didn't.

I could complain about the music being different.
But I won't, it was needed for the transfer to the big screen.

I could complain about there not being enough nods to the TV series.
But I won't, we got dinosaurs on Wash's console. The scar on Mal's chest. And even if they weren't nods exactly the stuff they left the same instead of changing to be more mainstream was a nod in itself. We still got them cursing in Chinese, we still got "Gorram" (even if the rating would have allowed him to use the real thing now, and we still got Serenity looking almost the same down to the pattern on the wall in the kitchen.

I could complain about River becoming River the Reaver Slayer.
Well... Maybe I will a little. In the series River kills only once, she does it extremely efficiently and the crew says "She did it with math". Now she's a perfect warrior woman able to kill swaths of Reavers while hardly breaking a sweat? Maybe it was a pretty big break from the TV series, but it worked.

I could complain about Book and Wash dying.
But I won't, I'll miss Wash but that was a big moment in the film. Book was the classic death, the death in every movie like this. Then Wash comes along later, saving the day by a hair and offering a witty quip. Like in every movie...

Ok well THAT doesn't happen in every movie. My only concern now is them trying to replace Wash with someone else as the witty "Voice of Reason", which would be transparent and hollow.

I could complain about River mumbling a bit so I didn't pick up on all of her lines until the second time I saw it.
But I won't, it was keeping tradition with the series

What am I going to complain about?
Ticket sales not being high enough. I don't want Firefly to die all over again!
Somebody on StarWars.com has to be a billionaire right? Start buying out screenings!
Keep great Sci-Fi besides Star Wars alive!

(We're done with the big screen anyway)
