Unrelated Thought: The Hayden Christiansen Audiocast today offered no new information for the Star Wars TV Show Guide. Lousy press, not asking the questions I want!

Well this is likely the last prime weekend for Serenity (though I'd rather it be otherwise!). So, in what's most likely my final plug for the film I'd like to direct you to something jediknight2210 reminded me of in the comments for my last blog (Thanks Andy!)

With that in mind I'd like to remind of the following few things.
1. This is all back-story setting the film up.
2. Yes it starts off fairly odd (could appeal to some people I suppose ), especially if you didn't see the TV Series it was based off of.
3. I wish they had done the first 10 minutes instead of 9, because then you'd see a "Normal" scene with the crew of Serenity, which is really the heart of the film.
4. If you chuckled at the sword moment, there are a lot more great humorous moments in the film (Starting with the scene right after this in fact).
5. I've mentioned this before, but: You didn't need to see Firefly, the TV Show it was based off of, to enjoy the film. You just need to understand the following facts that you draw out of these scenes.

A. River Tam was the girl who got broke out of the government building by her brother Simon. She's a bit crazy thanks to the government
B. He gave up his future as a doctor to save her, because it made him a fugitive.
C. At least 8 months have passed between the breakout scene and the last one with "The Operative", during this time Simon and River have joined up with the crew of the small transport/smuggling ship (Millennium Falcon anyone?) Serenity. Who you'll see in the next scene when you go see the film.
