Okay, first off, I will state that I am an excellent speller. Not boasting, I just am. I was the spelling champ of my class twice in Junior High. I'm just good at it. Why? Because I read so much. Oh, and that Catholic school thing too.
But I will freely admit there are some words that still give me the occasional trip-up; the word "occasional" itself being an excellent example (I always wanna write "occa
isional"). I also have problems with the word "rhythm".
So I'm not perfect speller. Nobody is. But I cringe at the horrendous spelling that I've seen on various message boards & chat rooms around the internet. I mean, there are common misspellings and such ("teh" instead of "the"; "wierd" instead of "weird"), but I attribute such goof-ups to simple transposings of the letters as you type. I do it too. But there are typos, and then there is total, complete illiteracy. Stuff that makes you say "What the hell...?"
This is what I'm talking about. I'm not talking simple transposed letters, I'm talking complete bungling of word spellings. You all know what I mean.
So even though I wince at some horribly misspelled words I find on board postings, I can't help but laugh hysterically at some of the clunkers out there. And so, I'd like to share with you some of the more memorable flubs I've come across. My apologies if I've included any of your own mistakes, dear bloggers, but what can I say? I have a black belt in
schadenfreude.
But be honest folks. How many of
you have cracked up over reading a word that was atrociously spelled??? See? We've all been there. So without further ado...

In closing, I'll just say this: for those of you who think that proper spelling, grammar, and sentence structure don't matter anymore in the 21st Century, I'll just ask you to click this link
here , which demonstrates what folks in the Real World might think of you if you don't have a proper education.
