Feels like it has been awhile since I lasted posted! I am just up to my eyeballs in final projects. Once those are all done then final exams are right behind him. If you can believe it, my last exam is on my birthday at 7:00pm! Yuck.
Anywho, on to more important things...
Last night I went with a fellow Star Wars fan to the Toronto Symphony Orchestra's "Hollywood: The Epics" concert. It was FANTASTIC! They did Ben-Hur, Lawrence of Arabia, Titanic, Gone with the Wind, Schindler's List, 2001: A Space Odyssey plus a bunch more (including an encore of Lord of the Rings)...but the real reason I went was for....Star Wars.
The Symphony had done a Star Wars concert awhile back which I couldn't go to so I jumped at this chance to seem them and it was amazing. it is just so exciting to hear the theme live you know?! I thought they were just going to do the original theme but they did the one from the prequels also! So they started with the Duel of the Fates theme, then they did the music from the award ceremony at the end of ANH, which led into original theme.
What was even better was they had stormtroopers come down the aisles for the last part of it and flanked the stage in majestic poses. haha for the finale finale they had Vader come out center stage right behind the conductor. Then the conductor jokingly ran off stage terrified being followed by Vader. It was great.
Before the show started part of the 501st was in the lobby doing their thing. Plus there was Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Rebel Pilot Porkins, some scout troopers, Anakin, and of course Vader with a small entourage of his own troopers. During intermission Zam and Jango showed up. And one of the favourites for the evening was R2-D2 and Alex Kung of Toronto who built him (

You wanna know the WORST part of my night?
Not having my camera! Yup. It's broken right now

and in the hands of Best Buy who is trying to fix it. I've only had it a year! Anyway, if you knew me well you'd know I like to take a lot of pictures...so I died a little last night not being able to have it haha. I got a few pictures with my camera phone but they were terrible quality.
As long as I have it by Celebration IV... Best Buy's employees will live another day.
Anywho! Sorry for the long description, I told you I'm chatty, and especially when I find it exciting.
I'm still reading Heir to the Empire...I have no time yet to really sit down and read it!
In fact, I gave myself a horrible headache trying to read it on the subway. I always get headaches doing that on the subway but I couldn't stop. I'm right at the part where they're arriving on Nkllonin.
No drawings or anything for you either! I tried to do some origami, and I'd like to show you...if i had my camera. dkljfdsjkfsfs.
Celebration IV is coming!! Less than two months away. I can't believe it! All the great stuff they are coming out with like the poster, and the program guide. Plus how about those stamps? They are fantastic. I voted for the Luke Skywalker one!!
Alright alright I've tried to end this entry about a paragraph or two back but I keep thinking of things...
One more though I promise...my Star Wars links of the week! Haha I should make it into a usual thing :P
First of all...if you haven't seen these, they are quite funny to go through..
Worth1000.com Star Wars photoshop contest. - Be sure to check out all the pages!
And then I came across this site through the Padawan's Guide I believe. This girl is amazing! Make sure you look at the "Indescribable" section
Imaginary Styles.
And finally, that previous search led me to this...
Princess Leia hair. :P I guess it could keep me warm for some of our Canadian winters!
Until next time!
