Why get rid of ARCs for Ties? Pt2
Ok now I will compare ships. ARCs have Firepower and Shelding but Ties have Speed and power in numbers. But there is always the V-Wings. They have speed with the adition of 4 lazer cannons. I can see why keeping ARCs may be costly but i think the V-Wing would have been a better alternative to normal ties. Now for Tie Interceptors. They had the speed and power the V-Wings have why not keep those 2 ships? I think the reason the alliance won was because they had such relaiable fighter craft. well thanks for your time.

The Emperor wanted something cheap and mass-produced, but yeah.. was he crazy when he did that? TIE fighters aren't the worst fighter ever--- but COME ON!!! He ditched real fighters for those dumb things. Why did he think that TIEs would do better if they were in greater numbers? He should have gone with something a little more expensive and give his milliion pilots a ship they can be proud of.

I agree. The empire was all about quantity. The alliance was about doing the job right. The rebel alliance ships, IMO, were much better equipped and used right, better thant the TIES. Not saying that all the TIEs suck, but they lack any magnificence.
