Well it's July again and time to take part in a yearly summer tradition. This year Star Wars gets the recognition it deserves at Comic Con. Check out the cover pic for the
Souvenir Book designed by
Adam Hughes. If you look closely, you'll see some familiar faces in the background on the right. Here's a hint, these are VIPs who plan out all Star Wars fan events. This souvenir book is available for free to all attendees. It would sure be nice to get it autographed....
I had lunch downtown with some co-workers earlier this week and saw that they had put up Comic Con banners on the lamp posts. The city buses are also sporting Comic Con ads that feature Superman. I am relieved to have pre-purchased the
Shadow Scout with Speeder Bike Comic-Con 2007 Figure. It makes things a lot easier. I sure hope they have a Star Wars breakfast this year. It's the only square meal I get during the entire Con; although last year I decided to catch the
free shuttles to the local mall. The food is better and the prices are reasonable. I sure won't miss eating the $7.00 nachos and $4.00 coca cola at the concessions stand. The Comic-Con website has already posted the action figure
exclusives. I am definitely going to get an R2-KT. Also, since this is the last year Master Replicas is licensed to produce Star Wars products, I am going to pick up some Force FX lightsabers. I prefer to get them at Comic Con since there is no shipping and handling, no dealing with the product getting damaged by UPS, and most of all, instant gratification.
The Comic Con website has also posted a sneak peek at the
programming. Of course this is not all inclusive, but only features some of stuff that is ready for publishing. Friday is again Star Wars day at Comic Con. I will be at Steve's Star Wars Spectacular in Hall H. I like that they've moved this presentation to Friday. Saturday is waaay too crazy in Hall H. Also, after Steve's presentation, Kevin Smith will be there to entertain us with his wit and funny observations. I'm sure he'll have plenty to say about Star Wars since his program is right after the Star Wars Spectacular. I'm amazed they can plan all these events out, given that we just had CIV and would have had CE only a few weeks before the Con.
Well I look forward to hanging out with my brethren at this awesome event.
