Dear Diary,
This morning, very early in the morning, my younger brother has boarded a military plane in Girona (Northern Catalunya, Spain) directed to Mostar (Bosnia-Herzegovina).
He's in the Spanish Special Forces and he's going there as part of the 25th Spanish Peacekeeping Mission in Kosovo.
He was quite lucky because, due to some technical issues, the departure was delayed for 24 hours, otherwise he would have left yesterday, the day of his 22nd birthday...I'm happy he got to spend it with the family and his friends...
I'm naturally terrified and all his and my husband's reassurances that everything is going to be okay are not helping me very much...specially knowing that he's volunteered to be in the team that will be in charge of deactivating the mines that are spread all over that country.
I trust him very much and I know he's a very responsible man but, I really want the next six months to be over as soon as possible so I get to see him going back home healthy and safe.
Oh well...I just felt like sharing this with you...right now I'm a bit stressed out because of this...
On a positive note, he's probably getting sometime off in July or August and since Kosovo is so close to Milan (where I live) he'll be coming to stay with me and my husband...that makes me a bit happier...
Take care,
Sanae
