I think Lowbacca ( a nephew to Chewbacca) was being trained by the new Jedi Order in EU.

While we're on the subject of interspecies Jedis...I really liked that about the Clone Wars animated series, seeing VERY alien looking Jedi and not just humanoid Jedi with some facepaint on. It's always discussed that all manners of lifeforms are in tune with the Force, but we usually just see a bunch of "good looking" humans. I would LOVE to see a Wookie Jedi with a green lightsaber, growling and plowing through enemies.

Let the Wookie Jedi WIN!

Yeah, a saber wielding wookie Jedi. That would be awesome to see. And I would definantly want to be on his side. But also Han said wookies had a short temper, you know about ripping peoples arms off when they lose. So it might be hard for them to control there anger. Which could lead them to the dark side.

Lowbacca (or Lowie) was male. And Master Tyyvokka was the Wookiee in The Stark Hyperspace War. And yes, Wookiee is spelt with 2 e's.

Okay, if you insist. However, the following is an excerpt from the Star Wars Encyclopedia by Steven J Sansweet: "Lowbacca The nephew of the Wookiee Chewbacca, he was the first of his species to train at Luke Skywalker's Jedi Academy. Nicknamed Lowie, the nineteen year-old Lowbacca had always shown an affinity for the Force. He was quickly befriended by Jacen and Jaina Solo, the twin son and daughter of Han and Leia Organa Solo."

Okay, what's your source that says otherwise?

Come on, a lifeform of any species with enough potential in the Force can be trained in the way of the Force!

Wookiee's are very strong in the force but because they are very short tempered it makes it harder for them to be accepted for Jedi training.

Yes Wookiees can master the force as far as I know there is only one his name is Lowbacca (or Lowie as Jacen and Jania call him) he's Chewie's nephew and soon to become a great jedi knight.
