Reminisce....
Hello all!

Well, as of a few days ago (2/15), I reached my one-year anniversary blogging on this lovely site, and I sorta-kinda told a few of you I wasn't gonna do one of these entries, but what the heck... whynot. :D As I stated on my last post, I really have enjoyed my time here on the site, and on the blogs.... so much has happened to me in this span of a year. My love for Star Wars, which has been around for as far and long as I can remember, has increased tenfold, at least. Since I've been here my knowledge of the SW universe has also expanded, and although at times I feel I have alot to learn, being here and being all over the net satisfying my cravings for all things... all details SW has really added to my overall SW experience. Getting to know many of you has dramatically increased my love for the Saga, and more importantly, life.

A few years ago I faced the loss of someone very close to me, and I guess I looked for something.... anything.... to toss myself into and completely escape and immerse myself. I was lost, I looked to the past... to one of the things I turned to as a child and teenager, as someone who often faced, and to some extent still does face obstacles and adversity, to something that was there all along, something I never truly forgot but was always in my own backyard.... this amazing experience called Star Wars. What I have realized is that something I desperately wanted to lose myself into, to confuse myself and completely pretend and forget what was happening to me, ended up being one of the things that helped me find myself again.

Courtesy of a Hyperspace membership and a screen name and some amazing friends met along the way, I feel now I was getting a feel for things and working out all the nonsense in my head and getting a feel for people... who, whether they knew it or not, helped me navigate my way through all of those dark times and bring me to a better place, and a final conclusion.... bad things may happen to good people, but there are always good people to help you see past the Dark Side and onto a brighter, twin-sunnier landscape.

So, like, thx. :)

(Hey, "Thanks" spelled that way looks like THX!) :^O :p

So anyway, onto other things!

Although I've always had a love for SW, and as a child had many SW toys, as an adult I never really had a whole lot of stuff.... until recently! "Recently" meaning the past several months, and aside from the childhood toys that will always be in my heart and a part of my youthful dreams, I never really bought much SW as an adult... I think being around here definitely cured me of that!! ;) :D

So without going into huge amounts of detail, here is what my meager SW collection entails... around 70 figures, a few ships, several books, 4 T-shirts, and other random but totally groovy SW items, such as the Burger King watches (4), a Darth Vader candy jar, which was a present for Christmas from my sister, a vinyl Yoda hand puppet, an 8th birthday present from my other sister (she sent it to me all the way from England when she lived there! A big deal then), and a very special Millenium Falcon ornament, from a most special friend.... and honestly, even though the stuff that I've bought that is either from eBay or from various stores is SO great and wonderful and all, the stuff that has been given to me and the items from my childhood is really the most special.

I'm not gonna do the link-for-every-single-item thing, 'cause honestly I don't have the patience!, so here are a few more pictures that clearly show everything.... I mean, really, if you have a blog on SW.com or are reading these things I doubt you need for me to tell you what a TIE-Fighter is... :^O

Everything is arranged on a desk in my bedroom, and although I hardly ever use the actual top of the desk, I occasionally put things away to keep them from getting too dusty or faded from sunlight (two big windows are directly across from that desk). I really love having it all out, and it makes me happy when I come home from my day at work and see all of this great stuff... a real pick-me-up.... :D

All of the ships are non-vintage and bought within the past few years. About two-thirds of the vintage figures are mine from my childhood and the rest are from eBay. I got some real good deals there! And paid way too much for some things, but that's just how it goes sometimes. Whatev! All in all, I'm pretty proud of my little collection, everything I have means alot and makes me happy, ties my love of SW into my everyday life, and honestly.... alot of it reminds me of all of you! :D I can't help but look at some of my figures/ships and see avatars... people... so funny....

This is just a general overview of all my stuff, really, and perhaps sometime in the future I'll go a bit more in-depth as to how I manged to collect and go about getting my things... after all, this is becoming a looong post! :O (If you're still reading, thanks by the way.) And of course, if you have any questions, put them in a comment! :)

Alright... lastly..... ;)

I've been thinking for some time about doing one of those personality surveys, and as others have done, I want you to ask me the questions. Really, they can be about anything.... I mean it. Really! Anything at all... and I'll answer all of them. So, oil up the gears in your mind, ask me "why in the Hell is this blog so long" if you want to, query away. Totally. I dare you!

I mean it... :D

You get the picture. You ask questions, and I will answer them in a later post (probably in a weeks time). And really, thanks to all of you who made it all the way to the end of this entry and read what I had to say... as always, I appreciate it. And you. :x

* Which character could safely be excluded from the saga? Explain ;)

* Which would you rather be reincarnated as, a jawa or an ewok?

* How do you like your eggs?

Awww, Pitt! This was such a sweet blog - I mean, it's really the first time we've really gotten a good look at'cha as a collector, and your origins in fandom. Thanks so much for sharing! :D

I gotta say - I love how you set up some of your figures, and I am totally envious of that landspeeder...I used to have one as a kid, and it got lost along the way.

HAPPY BLOGIVERSARY!! :D :D

Ok, now for questions...

If you have read any of the EU books, which is your favorite and why?

If you could be any of the Jedi, who would you be and why?

What's in your CD player right now? (or...what was the most recent song you loaded on your iPod?)

YAY! I can't wait to read the answers! :D

Happy blogiversary, and belated youaversary! :D

Those are some lovely pieces you have there. I always get a little torn when I see those OT ships. I had most of them, but my collection is nowhere to be found. Have my figures though. I've been thinking about trying to re-acquire the vintage ships, and I think this is helping motivate me.:x

OOH! Can we have an "Ask the Pitt" article? My question:

Dear Pitt - I've had this pesky bounty hunter riding my tail for months, and now we're stuck on a desert skiff together. I really want to shake him, but can't seem to do it. Any advice?

I dare you! Oh no you di'int! It's on!

Which Anakin do you prefer at the end of ROTJ?
Do you even like the Special Editions, or were the movies better as they were?
Have you ever had a Star Wars dream, and if so, were you a main character or a bystander?

Umm....

Coke or Pepsi?
Which is your favorite Star Wars movie? Or if that's too difficult, which is your least favorite?

I'll let you know if I come up with anything else! Can't wait for the answers!:)

OK...YOU asked for it! :D

1. When did you first realize that SW is much more to you than a movie saga?
2. Who is your favorite SW actor outside the SW films and for what film?
3. If Anakin Skywalker were a color, what would it be?
4. What is your biggest continuity issue with the saga?
5. Have you changed your opinion about any SW character since the first time you saw him/her in one of the films?
6. What time do you usually go to sleep at night? :D

Thanks, it IS alot of fun setting them up. Sorry to hear about your speeder, I never had that when I was a kid... and I wanted one so I looked around on eBay and found that one (from '95, Power Of The Force line) as a Buy It Now for only $15, including shipping, unopened and everything! I love it, it is really nicely done.

I really love the non-vintage ships and vehicles the best, they're much more detailed!

Now, we need to add this to your collection! (Gee, I'm bringing good money these days.
