The Princess...She's Here!
Well, I am really excited to see that Carrie Fisher will be at C4 in Los Angeles. I have never been to a convention before, and I really hope that I can make it. I have relatives there, and have never been there, so it is definitely at the top of my list, if time away from work permits.

I was thinking recently about what a strong role model, this iconic figure that we all know so well, that the whole world knows, has been over the past 30 years. Obviously, Her Royal Highnessess/Worship has had many things to Endor(!), but her resolve, as a fictional character and as a real person have always impressed me.

I see her as not only being wise, intelligent, and savvy far beyond her years(personally I think she was flirting with the Stormtrooper who barged into her cell to try and get out, before discovering it's not one), but a definite cinematic and cultural benchmark for things that were going on at the time, and in years to come. Ladies, you've come a long way, baby....maybe that remark is a little condescending to some, but very true to many others. I applaud GL for not making her the typical "shrinking violet".

I bet Solo could agree with that one.

So there's my Leia Tribute...if it's been done before a zillion times, I'm sorry!
