The Dagobah Cave
The Empire Strikes Back.

Luke is on Dagobah with Yoda, and enters the cave.

This scene has always spooked me.

Why, when Vader's face is revealed when the helmet breaks open, does Luke see his own face there? He has no idea at the time that Vader is his father. What does that mean? Why would Luke imagine this? (and I do believe this is all in his mind). I think GL said that he is afraid of becoming his own worst enemy, but why?

Force premonitions about his lineage? The vulnerability of youth?

I have a confused feeling about this.....

Let me know your feelings about this, perplexed, I am.
