Femtroopers
A friend sent me a link the other day regarding the "new trend" in Star Wars costuming: "Femtroopers."

Let me start out by saying that this blog is not meant to offend anyone who owns a costume like this, it is all my personal opinion.

I don't know how I feel about this. These quasi-stormtrooper outfits seem like they are just...not the real deal. They are not Star Wars. I am all for femininity and bringing out the feminine aspects of Star Wars. But we have Leia's slave outfit, we have Padmé's Naboo retreat dress...do we need to have something brought into the Star Wars world that is not Star Wars? It has the Star Wars elements in it, of course, I'm not denying that. But the contoured breastplate? C'mon. No.

That said, they are sexy. I mean, if I take my nose out of the air and loosen up, I see the appeal. If I stop being too cool, I think, "Wow, a way to have sex appeal and be a tough stormtrooper."

But I don't know. Keep everything in the Star Wars universe the way it should be. Please.
