ShaunCon XXV
ShaunCon XXV was another successful con. We had a wide variety of games, and it was busy throughout all 4 days. The games ranged from Serenity (a new popular addition this year), to D&D Living Greyhawk to board games and so on. Tabletop Adventures was back again with their horror themed Against the Darkness RPG, which is gaining a steady following at the con.

My own Star Wars RPG Saga Edtion games filled up as well. It was entertaining, though everyone was still learning the system - which was kind of the point this year. Playing a New Republic special missions team filled with a wide variety of characters and classes, they pursued a hated Imperial Inquisitor. They finally caught him in a dramatic battle on a bridge crossing one of the great sinkholes of Utapau, with a waterfall backdrop, just to add to the dramatic scenery. Two of the three groups actually captured the Inquisitor, in the same way, usually stunning him after the Jedi graduates from Luke's Academy took him down a few notches. The first group took him out with an excessive but effective use of the move object force power.

One of the con's major highlights was the Industry Seminar, where fellow Star Wars author Owen Stephens, comic book artist and all around funny guy Aaron Williams and myself talked a bit and took questions. We had a few Star Wars ones, but a few industry related ones, leading to long answers which mainly Owen answered with a lot of humor, enthusiasm, and often volume. There's a chance we may do it again next year, and may be able to draw a couple of others in as well, that couldn't make it this year.

While I was distracted with the con and a deadline and some other stuff all happening at the same time, the Wizards of the Coast site posted the last of the Force Unleashed SWMinis previews. First up is an all Luke affair - Luke Skywalker, Unleashed and Luke's Snowspeeder. Next is the Amanin Scout and the 21-B medical droid. Of course, the set itself was released on Friday, so you can check it out for yourself.

One final note, Wizards also posted a bit about the upcoming Starships of the Galaxy sourcebook, which you can find here.
