GenCon 08 Wrapup
Once again, I had a great time at GenCon. Among the highlights:

Knights of the Old Republic Campaign Guide released! As only limited copies were available, it sold out pretty quickly each day of the convention. The minis were also released.

The Star Wars RPG and miniatures seminar went very well. The entertaining panel ended up with Chris Perkins, John Jackson Miller, Rob Watkins and myself. We had a very good turnout and a lot of questions. Rob covered most of the miniatures questions while John Jackson Miller handled KotoR related ones, including a few related directly to the comic. Chris Perkins gave the presentation of the current and upcoming products, while I answered questions pertaining to the three campaign guides, a few miniatures questions, and a little bit on the wizards of the coast Star Wars website.

Update: JJM posted a pic on his webpage at faraway press.

Star Wars Roleplaying Game Saga Edition won several ENies:
Best Rules
Best d20/OGL Product
Best Game
and a silver for Product of the Year

Met Peter Mayhew and told him about the miniatures scenarios I wrote featuring Chewbacca. It was a nice conversation, and he was generous with his time. He also had a wookiee mini sitting right there at his desk, which was pretty cool.

Met some of the gaming podcasters, including hosts from Pulp Gamer, Fear the Boot, Wandering Geek, Gamers Haven, Canon Puncture and Order 66, which covers the RPG. I even saw a bit of the Fear the Boot live show.

Attended several D&D 4th edition and D&D Insider seminars as well as the D&D freelancers seminar.

Attended several other seminars on gaming, production and Pinnacle Entertainment Group.

Spent too much money in the dealers hall (again). Among the purchases:
Slipstream - a pulp/sci-fi Buck Rogers/Flash Gordon style RPG using the Savage worlds system.

"mage cages" to store my Star Wars miniatures

Gamer's 2: Dorkness Rising gaming parody DVD (finally released for sale)

A cool dice bag that converts into a dice rolling surface - the first dice bag I've ever actually purchased instead of repurposing a pencil case or something.

Caught up on PS238 comics, also picked up the PS-238 RPG (based on Hero system).
