The first preview of the upcoming Rebellion Era Campaign Guide is now available at the Wizards of the Coast site. This one features various members of SpecForce, the Rebellion's Special Forces units.

This represents one of those sections where the game design falls more into an encyclopedic mode - providing a brief writeup for players unfamiliar with the subject, and ready-made stats for immediate use in the game. So, while I summerized and updated the text (if needed), I didn't create them conceptually. The SpecForce units have been around since the d6 days and the original sourcebooks. They were greatly fleshed out in Rules of Engagement: The Rebel SpecForce Handbook, by Tim O'Brien. They occasionally show up in other guides and books, but not in as much detail.
