After a long hiatus from the Wizard's official site, the free Star Wars Miniatures scenarios have returned. Actually, several new missions have been in Wizard's possession for many months, but the redesign of the Wizard's site (and the Star Wars pages in particular) delayed the release.

Today's scenario is the first in a series called Jabba's Rancor. These three related missions are based on some of the major events in the Rancor's life. They are based on "A Boy and His Monster: The Rancor Keeper's Tale" from Tales from Jabba's Palace, the rancor databank entry on starwars.com, and "A Rancor Comes to Tatooine" from The Star Wars Sourcebook by Bill Slavicsek and Curtis Smith (that would be the very first RPG sourcebook).

Part 1, "Grizzid's Last Flight", depcits the desparate struggle that must have occured between the Grizzid's crew and the Rancor when the beast unexpectedly breaks from its cage in mid-flight. One large Rancor in a small space equals trouble. Add in easily damaged systems, and the thrashing beast is a danger to ship and crew alike.
