Champions of the Force Preview 4 and new Starship Battles Info
It's Thursday, and time for another Champions of the Force preview. I don't mean to make that sound like the previews are becoming too commonplace, but I've fallen into a bit of a rut with all of the WotC link related blog entries lately. It's great the games have had a lot of activity, but I need to post a few unrelated entries break things up a little.

Later.

For now, it's Thursday and time for another preview. This week is the Dark Trooper Phase I and the Sith Commander. PC gamers will recognize both of these characters from popular LucasArts games. The Dark Trooper is, of course, from the original Dark Forces, while the Sith Commander is a non-Force user from the original Knights of the Old Republic.

FYI, the RPG stats for the Dark Trooper Phase I (originally from the Rebellion Era Sourcebook) are newly updated to the RCR rules. The Dark Trooper Phase III is in the Universe set and its stats were updated in the Attack on Endor Scenario Book.

New WotC Catalog info on the Star Wars Miniatures Starship Battles game:
This is actually worth a blog entry of it's own, but I'll put it in here anyway.....the latest Wizards of the Coast product catalog is out and has a written description of the Starship Battles game. You won't find this on the main website yet, but it has been reported elsewhere like ENWorld.

Star Wars Miniatures Starship Battles
Starter Set and Booster
The Star War Miniatures gaming experience reaches a whole new level!
Star Wars Starship Battles is a new collectible miniatures game based on the popular Star Wars Miniatures Game. Long anticipated by fans, Starship Battles presents authentic starship figures from across all eras of the Star Wars saga. This 40-figure set is made up exclusively of space vehicles of all sizes, from starfighters to capital ships, all represented in relative scale. The starter game also contains two exclusive, non-randomized figures not available anywhere else, the Super Star Destroyer Executor and the Mon Calamari Star Defender Viscount.
Drawn from the popular films, computer games, comics, and novels, the starships in this set are presented in relative scale to each other and not scale with other Star Wars Miniatures figures.

I'm very much looking forward to this one. I used to use the old MicroMachines ships for my Star Wars RPG games.
