Warlord's Fury Scenario and CotF Preview 5 posted
Wizards of the Coast posted my latest free Star Wars Miniatures scenario, A Warlord's Fury. Set after the end of Dark Horse's Dark Empire and Dark Empire II, this scenario pits a powerful Imperial warlord against an influential crimelord and his new X-1 Viper Droid. Unwilling to overlook any potential threat, the warlord has arrived to eliminate the problem personally.

At around 200 points per side, this is a larger scale battle than many recent scenarios. A Warlord's Fury still features the Attack on Endor Scenario Pack, but also takes advantage of the vast array of minis now available for play. It uses miniatures from every available set, other than the AT-AT.

Usually, I try to restrict the minis to one or two sets...usually the most recently available, since the scenarios are intended to showcase the latest minis. It also helps new players to the game who may not have the previous sets or may not have many pieces. This time I also upped the number of Uniques and rare/very rares. Again, this is usually restricted to enable more people to play the game without substituting hard to find characters. Scenarios like this one are a nice change of pace and long time players should have some fun with it.

Wizards also posted the latest Champions of the Force Preview. This one features Republic Commando Sev and Darth Malak.

Darth Malak's RPG stats were challenging. Powerful dark side Force users usually are. Gary Sarli (the current Jedi Counselor) provided some additional insight and tips that were very helpful.

Darth Malak's stats were previously posted in an earlier feature on Knights of the Old Republic, but we decided to revise them. The main reason for this was to bring the character inline with the rules. The original version gave Malak some additional Force points and powers, probably to account for the effect of the Star Forge. We were able to create a very similar character without those special considerations. There were a couple of small stat fixes, as well For the most part, I tried to retain Malak's original skills or stats whenever possible.

Have fun.
