And the greatest Jedi/Sith of All time award goes to... [drumroll please]
Today the Dark Lord reveals the greatest Jedi/Sith ever to live and explains why in an in depth description. So without further adu, I give you the nominees...

*NOTE: QUEL-DROM SAV IS THE CHARACTER FROM KOTOR II THAT YOU PLAY AS WHEN YOU ARE GOOD (I NAMED HIM QUEL-DROM SAV BECAUSE THAT WAS WHAT I NAMED MY CHARACTER IN THE GAME SO WHEN YOU SEE HIS NAME IT MEANS THE CHARACTER YOU PLAY AS IN KOTOR II WHEN PLAYING IT GOOD).

1. Luke- redeemed his father. Was able to look Sidious in the face and deny all the power in the galaxy and surrender himself to be executed rather than submit to the Dark Side. This resistance and show of love for his father, friends, principles, and the galaxy itself is well more than enough to nominate him.

2. Kreia/Darth Traya- trained Quel-Drom Sav (see bottom). Taught one of the most valuable lessons, which is that even though you are more powerful when you are pure evil or pure good, true power lies in the ability to defect from/deny that power, as Luke and Quel-Drom Sav did. She could not do this herself, but because she knew this was the key to the ultimate power, she is a candidate.

Kreia-"Never doubt what you have done. All your decisions have brought you to this point."-(anyone see a reference to Qui-gon?)

3. Revan- brought the Republic to its knees well within range of being conquered by sheer force- something no one has ever been able to do since the formation of the Republic, but was able to turn away and leave for unknown regions of space. The fact that he was able to amount a force and nearly take over the Republic was enough to make him a candidate, but then he chooses to walk away from that power in order to accomplish something even greater that is still unknown, which gives him an extra boost.

4. Dooku- fell from respected Jedi Master to powerful Sith Lord. This alone makes him very powerful and a worth nominee. In addition to that, however, he also aided Sidious in his scheme to conquer the Republic and is responsible for almost the same number of atrocities and casualties as Sidious is. Many, including myself, would not classify him as evil, however.

5. Anakin- the Chosen One who destroyed the Sith and Sidious- enough said. But just to elaborate, he was able to fall so far from the light and then return to it like only one other person in the galaxy has ever done.

6. Sidious- killed Plaguies, his master, destroyed the Republic; turned the Chosen One into a Sith; responsible for millions of civilian, trooper, and Jedi casualties; all in secrecy exactly as he had planned. Noted by most as possibly the greatest Sith ever to grace the galaxy. It is also possible that he created Anakin.

7. Plaguies- possibly discovered the Sith equivalent of Shamon of the Whills, which is to prolong life. It is also possible that he created Sidious or Anakin.

8. Quel-Drom Sav- like Luke was able to look the Dark Side in the face and say no. Unlike Luke, however, he defeated 3 powerful Sith Lords, and fell to the Dark Side, before becoming good and pure once again. It is this fact that he was able to fall so far and return to the light that makes him a top nominee.

9. Yoda- one of the oldest and wisest Jedi Masters of all time. His wisdom is surpassed by almost no one. He is the greatest duelist of all time and the strongest Jedi of all time.

10. Obi-wan Kenobi- was able to raise the man who redeemed the Chosen One. He also trained the Chosen one and had Qui-gon Jinn as a teacher. Because of his connections with these people and how strong he was in the Force, makes him a candidate. Not to mention the fact that he sacrificed himself so others could escape the same fate.

11. Qui-gon Jinn- discovered the Shammon of the Whills. Although unorthodox at times, he always used the Force as a guide and trusted it in everything he did and was rewarded for his loyalty. This makes him a perfect candidate for this award.

12. Mace Windu- although radical and unable to control his anger at times, he is nearly pure good, with little trace of evil in him. He is a master duelist and strong in the Force, using it as a guide to help the general good of the people.

Unfortunately we have a three-way tie... the winners are... [drumroll]

Luke, for denying almost endless power.

Quel-Drom Sav and Anakin, for falling so far from the light and being able to return to it.

Kreia/Darth Traya was a close 2nd (er or I guess that would be a 4th), and was going to be included because she was the one who realized why Quel-Drom Sav was so powerful and discovered that secret, but was not chosen for the winner because she herself could not turn back to the light.

Revan was also a close choice because he denied having control over the Republic, instead choosing to search for a greater cause/fight, but his motives were unclear and we don't know what happened to him yet, so he was not chosen.

Summary: Luke, Quel-Drom Sav, and Anakin are the three most powerful Jedi for the following reasons:

Luke, for denying almost endless power.

Quel-Drom Sav and Anakin, for falling so far from the light and being able to return to it.

These two things the three of them did, is what true power is all about and that's why they are the most powerful.

Comments are welcome as always, but please no bashing. These are my opinions, not fact, but I do strongly believe in them. I hope you all enjoyed reading this entry and read the whole thing. P.P.S. I changed my avatar to Darth Traya in honor of Darth Traya week here at Sith_Archives66.

"I am a Jedi, like my father before me..."-Luke

"It is such a quiet thing, to fall. But far more terrible is to admit it."-Kreia/Darth Traya

Vrook (Talking to the exile): You were broken.
Kreia (to herself off-screen): You were whole.
Kavar: You were deafened.
Kreia: You could hear.
Zez-kai Ell: You were blinded.
Kreia: At last, you saw...

WOAH!!
Good blog!
I have to agree, except I'm not sure about your reference to Kreia. There is a difference between seeing and using absolute power if you ask me, but still...It's all in the eye of the beholder.
But still, I agree with your Exile, Luke, and Anakin
What about Revan? You have to admit he was pretty powerful.
He would take my spot instead of Kreia for 2nd.
(hope this doesnt come across as bashing)

Luke has his problems though so I wouldn't say that he is number 1, Darth Vader, while being redeemed he did nothing to actually redeem him self after he turned good. But alas it all has to do with point of view.

Ian6412 ... how would Vader / Anakin further redeem himself after being redeemed? Isn't once enough?

mmmmmmmmm very interesting

my greatest jedi is Kyp Durron. He lost his family was enslaved rescued enslaved again. Then posessed by exar kun. He destroyed whole worlds, almost destroyed luke
killed his own brother then when he was finally saved he did what luke could not do. He faced his test and won.

and my greatest sith is Exar Kun no other sith had the brains to live for a millenia yes I know it was in spirit . All he had to do was wait for a jedi to release him.

Palp did not do this yes he cloned himself but his clones were destroyed.

Kun was eventually destroyed but it took some very talented very young jedi to do it

Kun is my ideal choice because he hid in the spirit realm no doubt biding time
until he could be released . And even tho defeated he came close to wiping out the jedi

btw great and inciteful blog your choices are very thought provoking

I think it was said best the episod 3(the book).....

"Who is the greater master? The Master of his own style or the master of the classic style?)

"...He is the one that all masters point to as the example of what a jedi should be to there padawans..."

" You cant win Darth. You can strike me down and I shall become more powerful than you can possably imagen."

Obi-Wan my not have been the most powerful but he is the perfict example of what jedi should be. If something needed doing he was the one to do it. Anakin nor mace could beat Greavous. But thats just what i think.

I think Anakin said it best about Obi-Wan when talking to Padme: "He is as wise as Master Yoda and as powerful as Master Windu." I think Obi-Wan should get some props for everything that he's done. Just look at his track record: he faced off against Darth Maul after Darth Maul just killed Qui-Gon Jinn and won. Then he trained the chosen one, killed General Greivous, and then faced off against his padawan and best friend Anakin. He did it because he had to in order to try to save the galaxy, though by then it was already lost for the most part. Then he watched over and protected, trained, and sacrificed himself for Luke, Anakin's own son. I think that earns him at least 3rd place, if not 2nd. No offense, just my opinion. Great blog!

Yes, but the point is that although Obi-wan and some of the others are great Jedi and are the ONLY ones who could have done what they did, they are not hte most powerful, but that they were the most suited to do what they did which is why the Force choose them and allowed them to do so.

The first point of the blog was to demonstrate that true power lay in denying power. Ironic isn't it?

The second point of the blog was to demonstrate that being able to fall from the light and return (and vice-versa) takes true power too.

Ugh, you completely glossed over "Skippy the Jedi Droid." Talk about a snub! j/k

:^O

Actually, since I'm not at all familir with KOTOR stuff, I found those references interesting yet distracting. While I am interested in learning more about those facets of Star Wars to which I have not been exposed yet, I'd really like to see the results of your self-poll had you decided to only consider Jedi/Sith who appeared in the six movies themselves.

Just a comment on the "denial of power." How do we know none of the other Jedi have denied a power. That just has never been revealed in any narrative so far...

Mace Windu- although radical and unable to control his anger at times,

You might as well be describing Obi-Wan, Anakin and Luke. And even Yoda proved that he was capable of losing his temper.

As far as I know, there IS NO greatest Jedi/Sith of all time.
