Star Wars Trilogy Arcade
Can I just say... this is probably the best Star Wars video game ever made. That's right, the best. Short, to the point, and exciting... and I've yet to play a Star Wars game more involving.

This is a game I've not had many occasions to play. Great arcade set up, seat, joystick and a big flat screen to see the action on. Unfortunately when I've run across it it's usually in a seaside arcade on the Oregon coast or some similar joint and costs an entire dollar to play. To make it worse, the difficulty level is so high you can't really DO anything. You get shot up and you're done or you pump another dollar in. Well, all that changed last night. I was at Chuck E Cheese for the birthday party of my friend's son. Recently they've made all their games one token/quarter, so I had that going for me. I'm assuming this being a kid's place they've set the difficulty level rediculously low. SO WHAT! I'm 27, never had a good time playing this game that ruled and now was my chance. So I put in a token and got about 2/3 of the way through on that one token! I eventually lost and didn't have another token at the time, so I came back later and used 2 tokens and actually made it through 90% of the game dying at near victory and no more coins.

Battle of Yavin first time around blasting TIEs out of space, shooting up SDs, fighting against Vader and his flight, then running the Trench and dropping my proton torps down that reactor shaft! Great fun. Next up, Hoth! Snowspeeder taking out AT-STs and probe droids, then AT-ATs, then I play as Han Solo apparently shooting down snowtroopers and avoiding blasting Threepio and Artoo. Plus I had to kill a few wampas! Onto a duel with Boba Fett, as none other than Luke Skywalker! This is great fun, here I am with the joystick in my hand looking at Luke's hands and his lightsaber with arrows directing me where to block Fett's blaster shots. WIth the controls still going in the direction that it does when flying an X-Wing or snowspeeder it was a bit counter intuitive for the melee so I lost the duel. Still went on to drive a speeder bike through the forests of Endor and on to blowing up the shield generator. Then I get to the fateful duel with Vader... wow! Same deal as Fett, but Vader and it gives you a green arrow to let you know when he's open for attack! Each time our sabers clashed that joystick shook and felt like I was actually there on the DSII! Unfortunately because of the counter-intuitive control I lost to Vader too! GARRR! I'll be prepared next time! Nevertheless onto the Battle of Endor as Wedge! Shoot TIEs again it's basically a more intense version of the Yavin battle. That's when I got shot down my second time through the game on 2 quarters. Man was it fun.

I'm coming with a pocket load and beating it next time.
