My Journey To Plagueis The Wise...
every since i first seen ROTS, i was absolutely taken by the lore of Darth Plagueis the Wise!

i love stories that have ancient roots and shares the beginnings of how epic civilizations started. and in the SW universe, the tale of Plagueis the Wise is one of those pivotal eras.

ROTS came out 4 years ago now (i can't believe it's been that long already!). there has been so much that's happened in my life and the world since then. from my divorce and making time with my kids in a new way in my life, new jobs, writing two more novels, volunteering for several organizations...

i meant to read more about this enigmatic character. both on the SW Hyperspace site and in whatever novels or other publications i could find. but i never did. it's not that i was too busy to read about Plagueis--i still have nearly ten more books to read from this Sci-Fi book club i had joined a couple of years ago! so, i've been reading those books, other SW novels (including Timothy Zahn's "Outbound Flight"--excellent!), the New York Times online, magazines, and, you get the point.

i started thinking about Plagueis while on line tonight. i did a google on Plagueise the Wise and ran across this!

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Darth_Plagueis

what a lovely site for researching things SW! at least to suppliment Hyperspace. which, of course, is the best venue go get info, even from other fans.

anyway, my goal is to finally buy some SW novels from the EU and devour them up, like i do Zahn's books (takes me just a couple of weeks at the most to finish one. for me, working full-time, time with kids, writing my novels, etc., that's a short time!)

so, if any of my fellow Star Warriors know of any, and i mean any, SW books about Plagueis the Wise, please tell me in the comment section of this blog! really.

thanks!

Update:
since i finished this blog, i straight way began to read that Wookieepedia link. it has a tremendous amount of links to Plagueis and they have a good system that tells if there's just a "mention" of Plagueis or if he's actually in the book.

so far, based on this site and Hyperspace, apparently there aren't any "free-standing" books published on just Plagueis. there was supposed to be one novel, by James Luceno, but according to Sue Rostoni--an exec. editor with Lucas Licensing, they pulled the project and quoted her as saying:

"this was not the right time to delve into Palpatine's back story and Plagueis's beginnings." (see Wookieepedia link under "The Darth Plagueis Novel" section)

ok. i'm a loyal fan. i won't question motives here.

in any case, i welcome any tips on a good SW book with Plagueis in it--beyond a mere mention by another character or in narration!
