Star Wars Fans Hate Star Wars? Puh-lease...
TheForce.net has a link to an article about how Star Wars fans hate Star Wars. You can read the article here. The article goes on to say that true Star Wars fans hate Star Wars. True Star Wars fans hate the inconsitencies, the comics, George Lucas, etc.

My response: rubbish.

I might further add: The audacity the author, Andrey Summers, has to deem to speak for the rest of us that believe we are true Star Wars fans.

I love the mythology. I love the movies. I love the heroes. I love the villains (or love to hate the villains). I'm thankful that George Lucas made Star Wars, warts and all. I'm a huge fan of the EU that allows me to continue to experience the events that occurred a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away.

You know what I hate: defending my fandom from the likes of the author of this manifesto on Star Wars fandom. Star Wars in my hobby. I won't defend it. I don't need to. I love it. It is a way to spend my spare time. If someone else doesn't like it--too bad for them. They are the one missing out in my opinion.

In conclusion: Mr. Andrey Summers, I think you know what I think you can do with your opinion about true Star Wars fans. Nobody appointed you the President of the Star Wars fan club. There might be parts of Star Wars that I don't care for, but I don't hate Star Wars and never have. I'm about as big a Star Wars fan there is, but Star Wars is about escapism, not perfection. Go on hating it by yourself, but leave me out of your Star Wars angst. Thanks.

Had to get that off my chest.
