My BFD Contribution: Gifts for the Star Wars Characters
I was finishing my Christmas shopping yesterday and I ended up in the DVD section of Best Buy. I was looking at the Star Wars DVDs, and I wondered what I would get various characters in the Star Wars universe. I had also been wondering about how to contribute to BFD, and I decided this would be it. So, without further ado, here is my Christmas list for the various Star Wars characters:

R2-D2: R2 is a guy trapped in a droid's body. Guys love electronics. But, what do you get the guy that has it all? Seriously, R2 has a information jack, a welder, a serving arm, a projector...you name it, he has it. However, anyone else remember in Revenge of the Sith how he had to have a comlink to talk to Anakin and Obi-wan? I decided to cure that problem and I'm getting an iPhone. Now he can talk to whomever and store movies, music, and pictures somewhere other than his central memory.

C-3P0: This one was easy. C-3P0, despite his desire to serve, is kind of prissy and needs to be coddled. I thought about the torture he went through in the Tatooine environment, and then I had it. For 3P0, I'm combining a gift certificate to Jiffy Lube with a gift certificate to his favorite spa so that he can get a relaxing oil bath.

Han Solo: The man has two great passions: the Millenium Falcon and Princess Leia. I can't get him anything appropriate, that won't get me slugged, that relates to Leia. So, I'm getting him a new tool box full of tools and a gift certificate to Autozone so he can get all the parts he needs for the Falcon.

Princess Leia: Although she didn't really know her mother, she seems to have adopted Padme's taste for wild hair styles. Granted her style is a little more refined. However, I suspect it is a lot of work to maintain her hair without the benefit of hand maidens. Therefore, I'm getting her a set of curlers, a blow dryer, a bottle of shampoo and conditioner, and a trip to the hair dresser.

Chewbacca: He is getting the same thing as Leia, but for completely different reasons.

Obi-wan Kenobi: Let's face it, the man is a bit of a lad. He likes his booze. How else can you explain him always ending up in places like the under city cantina in Episode II or the Mos Eisley Cantina in Episode IV. So, for Obi-wan, its a bottle of the finest Scotch.

Anakin/Darth Vader: Anger management classes.

Emporer Palpatine: A consultation with a plastic surgeon. Seriously, the most powerful man in the galaxy can't get adequate health care to get his face fixed?

General Greivous: More lightsabers for his collection. Killing Jedi has to be a heck of way to engage in a hobby.

Yoda: Have you seen the shack this guy lives in? Extreme Home Makeover should consider paying him a visit. I'd help fix the place up, but I'm not that handy. So, its a gift certificate to the Home Depot for Yoda. I figure he can pick out what he needs and use the Force to slap it all together.

So, there you have it folks--Christmas gifts for the Star Wars universe.

I hope you all get want you want this holiday season. Happy BFD, Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, and May the Force be With You!

Well, I guess anger management is a good idea, but I got Vader a XXL size bottle of shoe polisher. (Hey, you'll never know when he'd want to polish his armor.)

Pfft, that's easy...42 inch flat-screen HDTV, with surround sound, plastered on the wall. :^O

Extreme Home Makeover should consider paying him a visit.

I think 'Flip this House' is more appropriate. :^O

Great list. :D

Happy BFD. :)
