I just read in entertainment news that Ewan McGregor and Eve Mavrakis have adopted a girl from Mongolia. That is so cool! I've always liked Ewan McGregor's public personality; he doesn't seem to get into the flaky actor lifestyle, and seems like a genuine good guy. I admit I like his sense of humor.

Adopting a child who needed a forever family has reinforced my positive opinion of Mr. McGregor. Adopting a girl also sends a very positive message to the two girls that are already part of their family.

Don't get me wrong, I know a number of people who adopted a girl specifically because they already had two or three boys, and that's fine! I still think that we live in a male-dominated society, where a percentage of men still want a boy to carry on the family name. I think it is much easier to crush the ego of a girl when you "keep trying" for the boy.

Best wishes with your expanded family, Mr. McGregor. We didn't see much difference going from 2 kids to 3. I'm sure your expanded family will be fun!
