The Sith's Defeat
Okay, it seems like people refuse to believe the Sith are defeated in ROTJ by anakin, because of EU 'Sith' characters. Well, other then Mr. G.L. saying Ani defeated the Sith, I have done weeks of research on this topic to reveal that Anakin Skywalker did, in fact, destroy the Sith.

Okay as we all know, Anakin is the Chosen One, as Mr. Lucas has said, and he defeated the Sith. Now what i hear happening, Anakin didn't destroy the Sith, he just killed Sidious/Palpatine. Well, according to my research there were some after Vader and the Emperor who claimed to be Sith( i.e. Carnor Jax, Lady Lumiya) but i have found out they had only begun their training, they didnt even reach apprentice status, so they were Sith hopefuls, but not Sith, even though they could use the DarkSide, that alone only made them Dark Jedi, Sith devote themselves to an ancient code, they follow strict rules, but Dark jedi are no more then that-Dark Side users like Jax and Lumiya.

Now for the clone Palpatine, the big one. This is what took up most of my time, figuring out how he wasnt a Sith. Ok, so we know Palps was cloned, and his clone came along and turned Luke to the DarkSide. Without much thought, he is Palpatine, but when u look deeper, u find out this one thing-he's a clone Take Joruus C'baoth, he was a clone of Jorus C'baoth, but he wasn't him. This clone Palpatine was not Palps, he(the clone) never recieved Sith training, sure he cud use the DarkSide, but like i said earlier, that only makes him a Dark Jedi.I dont recall the Clone Palp following any rules from the rules of the Sith. He too, i have discovered was a Dark jedi, the last Sith were- Darth Sidious, Darth Maul, Darth Tyranus, and Darth Vader, the Sith ended with these individuals, they were the last Sith, i dont recall Jax or lumiya or clone palp saying they were sith, but i have heard debates over who was a Sith and who wasnt, i know names arent factors of Sith, but if u think bout it, the last sith were all Darth's.I leave with one final thought, anyone who claimed to be a Sith after Vader/Palpatine is no more then a Dark Jedi.

I think the Sith were destroyed with Palpatine in JEDI, but that its possible for them to be ressurrected. The thing that separates a Sith from a Dark Jedi is the Sith knowledge and teachings. And on dark worlds like Korriban, those teachings survive, awaiting fallen Jedi.

Its the same for the Jedi. Even if they all were killed off, the possibility of the Order returning is still there, if Jedi teachings survive through Holocrons and other devices.

So yes, the EU characters you list were NOT Sith. Most definitely.

But I think that the Sith can return, as they will in the Star Wars: Legacy comic coming next month. And they all even go by the first name Darth...

I agree that Palpatine and Vader were the last Sith. I don't know that they could not return but it seems highly unlikely being that there are no masters to teach it. I just don't think you can learn Sithiness from a book, I kinda think its something you have to get first hand knowledge of- otherwise your just a Dark Jedi. ciao

Don't forget, the chosen one was to bring balance to the force. That doesn't mean that the Jedi win. That means that Jedi and Sith will be equal. Once Vader killed Palpy and died himself, he brought balance. There was no Jedi (Luke wasn't a real Jedi. He might have been later, but compared to other Jedi, he wasn't that good) and there was no sith (if you don't count Mara-Jade). So, when Luke started his academy on Yavin 4, the sith (like Desann and Tavion, to name some) started rising in their usual master and apprentance duo. Also, when Anikan brought balance, the balance wasn't forever.

Megawolf, i have to disagree because in one of the commentaries(i cant remember which one) GL says that Anakin destroyed the Sith. And MasterObi-Wan, I know that there are worlds like korriban that are Sith worlds, but as MasterYoda said, you probably cant learn to be a Sith from scriptures or holocrons. But, one other thing about the "Sith" from the Legacy. in Insider it said something "They see the Jedi as agents of chaos, While they're founded on Sith principles, they are not in fact the same Sith" so that right there says-they arent the Sith, a new kind, yes but not the original Sith that were destroyed by Vader. Thnx for the comments though! Please continue commenting

You can't say he was a dark Jedi as he didn't receive Jedi training either, He was a Force adept, but not a Jedi or Sith of any note.
