Greetings From A Galaxy Far, Far Away...
Hey everyone! Padaweirdo here. Well, 2008 is almost over already. This year went by pretty quickly, at least for me. A lot has happened too.
I moved in late 2007, and 2008 has been my first year in a new home. Unfortunately, my fairly large collection of Star Wars memorabilia didn't make the journey, and so I went several months without anything Star Wars. I
did have all 6 Star Wars episode on my iPod, but I only watched them occasionally.
The first addition to my
new Star Wars collection came for the winter holidays. I received, from my little brother and sister, a pricing guide to Star Wars collectibles and two Titanium Series Micro Machines (an AT-TE and Pod Walker). However, even these gifts weren't quite enough to fully renew my interest in Star Wars.
However, Star Wars continued to pull at me. One day over the summer while out getting some groceries, I discovered a small store called Things From Another World. They sold comic books, action figures, and collectibles of all kinds. But my favorite place in the store was a place I liked to call the Star Wars Corner. It has action figures, comic books, collectibles, and much more. It was after much deliberation I finally bought a (somewhat overpriced) Stormtrooper figure. It was the first Star Wars anything I had bought since moving. And things in my Star Wars universe would only get better afterwards.
I would go on, in the later months of summer, to buy three more action figures: Obi-Wan, Anakin, and Captain Rex (all "Clone Wars" style). Later, in September, my birthday came around. I requested (and received) a Hyperspace subscription. And, remembering the blogs I had always used to love reading, I immediately signed up for a blog and made my first blog entry.
Since then, I've met several people through the blogs and have become even more involved in Star Wars. I finally put up the posters from my old room (which I had in a packaging tube) up in my new one. I've been writing and reading blogs, as well as watching The Clone Wars on TV. I can't wait to see what Star Wars has in store for 2009. (I'm really looking forward to the
new TV show.)
Well, this is my last blog entry of '08. See you all on the other side!
Padaweirdo signing off. May the Force be with us all.
