Saga Edition
Well, today ("day" being realative) was my first test play of the Saga Edition rules.

I'll admit, at first I was quite upset when I realized how drastically the rules had changed (not to mention that now my old books, which I had around 20 of, were now useless), but this first session was a wild success.

The Saga System is easier to learn for newcomers, more streamlined and concise, and more cinematic in scope than the Revised Core Rules.

Things I definately liked included the Talent Trees (think Star Wars Galaxies or Diablo 2, but in d20 form), the complete skill revamp (say goodbye to skill points!), and Destiny rules (it really gives the game a more epic feel to it).
The classes are also much better balanced than before. Before, Jedi were crazy overpowered. In the old system, General Grievous never could have posed the threat that he did to the Republic. With the blaanced classes, he's a force to be reckoned with.

My only major complaint is that the book provides very little in the way of information/statistics for the Galaxy's inhabitants and technology.
They only mention a few vehicles, a few starships, and a few characters (none of which have more than one version listed).
Ok, the stats for a landspeeder are nice, but what if I need a STAAP?
Great, you have Vader's stats, but what if I need Anakin's? Or a good background character like Bossk?
Also, why can we play a Gammorean[b] or an Ewok as a character, but not a Nemoidian or a Nautolan?
And, by the way, where the heck did the Galactic map go? That was one of the most useful pages in the old books!

...

Well, it's too early to make a complete verdict.
I'll post more later.
