Wampa Wampa!
Hey everyone! No presidential chatter today, as I try to contribute to the blogger community!

The Wampa is a classic toy. A generic bad guy in the sense that he didn't care who you were afiliated with, he was hungry and he thought you'd look real good hanging from the cave ceiling.

Growing up my buddy down the street had this toy and when we would be setting up to play Star Wars it was always a struggle to see who would get the Wampa first. You see when you're a kid you can use the Wampa however your deem neccessary. My buddy always seemed to stick him in a cave made of pillows. What fun is that? When I was lucky enough to have him on my side we gave him a name and made him feel at home with the rest of the crew!

Then there was that Kenner commercial for the Wampa. The kids playing would go "Wampa! Wampa!" Who's idea at Kenner was it for this line? I mean it's funny as all heck today but imagine that same concept applied to a toy commercial for a hot toy line today? I imagine said commercial genius would be in fact, let go.

So to sum it all up, Wampa's are cool. They have feelings too ya know, and should not be neglected in a pillow cave or forced to speak broken english like Frankenstein.

Somewhere, in a galaxy far, far away, bloggers everywhere are cheering. B-)

Holy cow, I forgot about that one. Man, that is great, thanks for the trip into memory lane with that one.

Here! Here!!

The Wampa was one of the first toys I replaced in my collection after I had to sell my original collection (long story) and I have such fond childhood memories of my (not-so-cute) times with my friends and the Wampa on our "Hoth".

No, we didn't go around saying "Wampa, Wampa" either. You're right. What were they thinking? But we bought the toy anyway! I don't think it had anything to do with the commercial...

I never had a Wampa, I really wanted one because ESB was and still is is my favourite SW film, I had lots of SW toys (mainly passed down from my older brother) but the Wampa (and Snowspeeder) are the two that I really wanted but never got.

I enjoyed playing with Wampa as a kid. I had the cut-open Taun taun, too, as well as the original.
