Fast Food Premiums Done Right
Hello Bloggers!

Taking a look back at all of the Revenge Of The Sith merchandise that went along with the film, I'd have to say the Burger King kids meal toys were amoung some of the cooler promotional items we've seen in quite some time.

We had Taco Bell offer toys for the Special Editions, and Episode I. But they'll never compare to the fun new Burger King toys!

I remember when they started to hit. I'd hear from collectors that at some Burger King's you could buy the toys seperately, while others you had to buy the meal!? Some guys were able to get all of them that were to be distributed that particular week in one fell swoop. I guess it just depended on where you were at and how cool your local BK was to Star Wars fanatics!

Then there was the special limited edition ( 5 per case! ) Anakin Skywalke / Darth Vader! The outer case was Darth Vader but when you opened him up, Anakin was inside! How cool was that? Plus for wave two they decided to alter the Vader, but still make him a chase toy. When you pushed a button on his chest you'd hear the ever familiar breathing apparatus of the Sith Lord, striking fear into kids all across the U.S.! Ok well maybe it didn't scare anyone, but man it sure is a cool toy!

I also really enjoyed the over all look and feel of these toys. The squashed animated "manga" style of sorts, was just the right flair it needed in order to work. When I first heard they had aquired the license I was hoping we'd get some more glasses to match the vintage set from the 80's. We all know that didn't happen but I think they made up for it by giving us collectors access to a very cool collectible line of Kids Meals toys that I will most likely always keep in my collection!

The plush ones were the best. I love the little Jawa and Ewok.

My fave was the Yoda who flipped backwards. Though the breathing Darth is a hoot!

Burger King has the best toys. Hands down, between the Star Ward toys and watches to the Simpsons watches. Wake up with the King!!!

No problem. I'm not a collector, so bugers was the only thing I could comment on! I've always spelled it boogers myself though... :D

I too had a LOT of fun collecting those toys. There is something about buying Star Wars toys at a place that you normally do NOT expect toys, plus the fact that once they are gone they are GONE (unless one resorts to eBay) that makes chasing these things down special.

But the BEST part is once you finally get that LAST toy you've been chasing down, and Your Collection Is Now Complete!

That was MY fave part anyway...

I guess they're all right... I just like the action figure line better... and also, my house does not have enough room for my ever-expanding collection, so I better not encourage any other facets...:)
