My Own Star Wars Wedding
On October 20th 2006 I married the woman of my dreams, Shannon. I had surprised her on Christmas Day 2005 with the proposal. Of course I did it in as sneaky a way as possible ;) After we had already opened gifts, and were about to head on over to Grandma's house for a family get together I ran back up to the bedroom grumbling about lost keys and called her up. When she entered the room I dropped to one knee and popped the question. Before I could even get the words out of my mouth she was already saying yes!

She cried, we went to Grandma's and everyone found out, yahoo. ( cliff notes version )

So once we were past that I really had no idea how much planning actually goes into a wedding. Before I knew it we were going here and there, making lists, spending money. Before I let it get too out of control, I had to chime in and see how much Star Wars I could fit into this wedding ;)

At first she agreed to some music changes, but didn't want those "stormtrooper guys" there. Little did she know I had already set into motion the master plan! I had already contacted the 501st ( locally ) and asked a friend to round up a good handful of troops for my special day. We suceeded and operation SWFCPWD (Star Wars Fan Club President Weddin' Day ) was in motion!

As we got closer a lot of friends and family asked if it was going to be a "Star Wars" wedding. I would joke and say I was dressing up as Jar-Jar, but made no mention of the elite group I had assembled. Shannon finally told me it was ok if I wanted Stormtroopers in the wedding since so many people were asking for them. I let her in on my plan and we held our secret until the reception where all of our guests arrived to a little Star Wars flare!

You should have heard the screams of excitement as we pulled up in our limo and all the kids saw the Star Wars characters guarding the main entrance! Zac (my little buddy) was the most excited.. He just turned 5 and well now we're cousins ;) I've adopted him as my personal pet project, my apprentice if you will ( Always there are two! )

Once inside we all had a great evening. It simply went too fast for me as I constantly had the feeling I was being pulled in four different directions! I did manage to get to talk to all the 501st members. Some of these guys I had just met for the first time. It just goes to show that Star Wars can forge new friendships at any time, any where, and any place.

It was good to see so many people from far and near join together to celebrate our marriage. It really means a lot to me that we're so loved by family and friends. I had a blast and if you were there I hope you did too!

Hey, wanna see some pictures?! Here are a few online right here!

Before I go I'd like to thank the following people fo helping me make this happen. These guys were there when I needed them to be and for that I'll always be thankful.
