The Ohio Star Wars Collectors Club
Yesterday here in Cincinnati, Ohio I attended the southern chapter of OSWCC ( pronounced "OZ-WOK" by the membership ) monthly meeting. It was good to get together for a few hours with all my Star Wars collecting friends. We usually get together every second Saturday of each month. Each month the meeting is hosted at another members house or apartment. This way we all get to see each others collections and how they are displayed, which makes for great conversation and some very interesting homes!

At yesterday's meeting one member had the new Gentle Giant General Grievous ( say that five times really fast! ) bust, which I now want after seeing first hand. I brought the new 30th anniversary collection R2-D2 to show everyone what the new figure packaging looked like. Another member brought various Boy Scout Jamboree Yoda patches which were just too cool!

I took a little bit of cash with me just in case there was anything cool I wanted to get. Usually there are a few members who bring new stuff they find or perhaps one collector is unloading a portion of their collection. Either way its good to bring some cash just in case ;) I scored the latest Galactic Heroes wave featuring Darth Maul with speeder, Anakin & Clone Trooper, and Obi-wan as clone trooper with DURGE! They are so dang cool! I love this line from Hasbro. While at the meeting I also scored a Gentle Giant Han Solo bust fro $10, a cool chrome imperial logo decal for my Honda Element, and one guy found a bonus two pack that was sealed tight with two of the exact same saga R2's ( #10 ). I had to have it!

I had to leave a tad bit early but overall the day was great. A run to Traders World with a few guys from OSWCC, some Gold Star Chili and a OSWCC meeting to top it all off! I'm already looking forward to next month ;)

If you're interested in a local Star Wars collector club, look for the special panel on the subject in the collecting track at Celebration IV.

The Galactic Heroes line is very cool. They're the main part of my current collection.
