Just been thinking. WIth the release of a new Indy movie...
For me, Star Wars is over. I will always love it, continue to watch the movies and collect some toys and stuff but really, it's over. I am not an expanded universe fan. It just doesn't do anything for me. I love some of the video games and read the Thrawn Trilogy but thats about it. Star Wars is now a LEGACY for me and I kind of like that. A sense of completion with Episode III. The animated TV show looks fun and all- but not all that exciting. Its a TV show, its a cartoon. The live action show has been pushed back so many times I have doubts it will ever get made. For me Star Wars has been a cinematic experience. An epic movie. Sure, it may be because I am a bit older now and I remember seeing the original in theaters when i was eight, but it is about a big, movie experience.
I know lots of young fans are into the video games, EU, and will love the new TV show. This is good since it will keep Star Wars in the public eye. And maybe, if that holds up long enough... MAYBE there will someday be another movie. I highly doubt it but you never know. George said he is done with the moveis, but he could change his mind. I hope he does but he won't live forever! But who knows? in thirty years or so, after George has become part of the Force, someone may start a-new!
