The Circle is complete
Like many fans of the saga I have been a lifelong fan of the series. In fact my first memory is being 3 years old at a drive in theatre in 1977 and seeing the original Star Wars for the first time. Im now a 31 year old artist with definate influences from the Star Wars experience.
This morning, May 19th at 6:17 am I find myself very satisfied with my midnight screening of Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. I remember when Ep. I came out and a lot of people didnt get it. There expectations were not met. Episode II came out and a lot of those folks started to say yeah, I think I understand better now what the story is about. Now Episode III has made its entrance and everyone that Ive seen interviewed has the same basic opinion; lots of action, good lightsaber fights, a lot darker and they love it enough to see it again, and it pulls all the pieces of the story together. One reporter asked a fan after seeing the latest Star Wars episode if it was better than the previous two installments. To which the fan responded "Well, they are all good in there own way.
Its good to hear these reports from the fans, although we can be sure to hear the typical boos from the media very soon.
There has been some talk about the similarities between some of the themes in the latest film(or all of the prequels)and todays political climate. Obviously this wasnt meant to be a direct reflection of a U.S. modern day "empire", but more so about human nature and its highs and lows. And in our nature is the capacity for many things. Its not uncommon to have a Darth Sideous running the show, or to make mistakes that Anakin makes. Movies are one way we have to examine and discover or express things about the human condition. I for one see this as one of the best stories to be handed down just like the old ones that were passed generation by generation.
