I found this while poking around a few days ago, and thought I'd share it with all of you. It's a story called
Heroes by someone called Gehayi (whom I don't know). I thought the idea of Star Wars from the perspective of a Harry Potter character was interesting, and when that character is Peter Pettigrew, it is even more interesting. So if you like both stories, read on!
In this story, Peter Pettigrew watches Star Wars in the theater. I hadn't thought about it, but the timeframe is about right (maybe off by a year or two, but it's close enough for me). Pettigrew could have watched Star Wars. How wild is that?
The author's summary is as follows: "Everyone else in the theatre was watching an American science fiction film about the struggle of a handful of ordinary people to defeat an immensely powerful and insanely evil Dark Lord. Peter was watching a documentary."
Peter Pettigrew identifies wtih the (short! geeky!) Luke Skywalker, and wants to be a hero like him, but finds the (annoyingly too cool, like James and Sirius) arguments Han Solo makes about rewards being worthless to the dead make more sense than he likes. He sees Voldemort and the first war in the movie, and decides Lucas must know about the wizarding world. He can't believe that the audience laughs when Alderaan is destroyed - it hits too close to home for him. And he finds Vader repellent, yet strangely compelling...
I enjoyed the story. I hope some of you do too.
