Problem with KOTOR
I just started playing KOTOR and I got to the part when your character escapes with the escape pod, but right after that the game freezes then shuts itself off!:_|

Can anybody help me? I heard that this was an awesome game and I really want to play it!!!!

Oh no! Does it happen every time? A good thing to try might be to make sure you have the latest updates to the game (patches are available on the LucasArts website) and to your graphics card driver software. Also, you could try going into the game options and reducing some of the graphics quality controls. Are you using a new computer, or is it older?

I got the game like 2 years ago and it happened then, but I just tried it recently and it happened agian. I updated it a few days ago and tried to go on agian but it wouldnt let me. ILL try it agian and try reducing the grapic quaity controls. My computer is version 2002 and when I installed the game it said my video card was too low and I didnt have enough RAM but since it worked on the first level I didnt think it was a problem.

Oh...that's probably the problem. Try turning down the graphics like I said earlier. But aside from that, you could be out of luck. On my laptop KOTOR2 freezes up all the time, and I've never found a solution....my hardware's just not quite up to it I guess.

I had this exact problem when I first tried the game. I had a hair below min specs on the video card and RAM (248MB or something...stupid shared memory). I upgraded my vid card (which freed up RAM) and the game worked fine after that, I think it worked with graphics above minimum specs too.
