Series Overview: Jedi Quest & Secrets of the Jedi
Jedi Quest

This series, by Jude Watson, begins four years after Ep I with Obi-Wan taking Anakin on his earliest missions as a Padawan, through to shortly before Ep II. The series is discussed in BC&T in this thread.

More details about the actual titles and their blurbs can be found here.

From this post:

Well, I just finished the Jedi Quest series and I am certainly glad that I was able to track them all down through our library. They are a great read and are even better than the Jedi Apprentice series.

Actually it's just occurred to me that I must ask my 12 year old about how much The Final Showdown draws from KOTOR - I assume that the planet, the Valley of the Sith and the monastery itself are all drawn from the game (he's only up to book 7 at the moment, so I'll wait).

There were many times I was frustrated by Obi-wan not recognising that he needed to sit down and have a serious talk to Anakin about his attitude - but that is not a complaint about the writing: it is entirely consistent with the Obi-wan of the movies having "failed" Anakin.

Now that I know who Ferus Olin is I'm off to re-read The Desperate Mission.

The latter is a reference to the first book of the Last of the Jedi series.

Secrets of the Jedi

This standalone book, which ties in with both the Jedi Apprentice and the Jedi Quest series is also by Jude Watson and is discussed in this BC&T thread.

There is more information about the book here. The book begins with Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon not long after the last of the Jedi Apprentice books (a couple of years before Ep I) and concludes with Obi-Wan and Anakin (and his secret wife, Padme) not long before the beginning of Ep III.

From this post:

I just finished this book and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Having just finished the Jedi Apprentice series it was like continuing on from there - but it was certainly a notch above the writing in that series. There was greater depth to the characterisations, and seeing the later period being set between AOTC and RotS made for as stronger story.

The ending was certainly sadder even than the Qui-Gon/Tahl stroyline IMO, and really set things up well as regards Anakin's attitude to Padme and his fears about what could happen to her.

Definitely well worth reading.
