Why can't Anakin just be imperfect? I keep reading all these blogs frantically searching for "the bit of goodness" in Anakin. Come to grips with it, people - he was whiny, dissatisified, megalomanic, obsessive ... and that was on a good day. He choked out the wifey, fought his passive-aggressive master, and had plans to go ahead and wipe out the Emperor, too. By the time he got to Mustafar, Padme was a distant thought - it was all about the recognition and power he was going to have. I could be confused, but I'm thinking that if he was really worried about her, he wouldn't have Force-choked her into unconsciousness.

And you know what? Anakin was awesome that way. Most of us will never give into the id, or the part of us that wants and wants and wants - the part of us that harbors our deepest desires ... probably the ones that we know we can't have. What's the fun of watching people *just like us*? I'd rather see people that are exaggerated. I have problems with complaining, being annoyed, wanting more authority than I have, and obsessiveness (usually about SW) - but I don't go run around with an awesome sword and kill people ... which is exactly why I like watching people that do.

He doesn't need to be a Christ figure - he's just an immature kid who unfortunately required 20 some-odd years in a really crappy life-support suit to mature.

And in the "Honest Question" department ... why is everyone so dang determined to make Windu live? I'm sorry, but I had no sympathy for the guy. He treated Anakin like a baby, told him to basically "stay in your room and let the big people handle it" after Anakin did *what he was supposed to* and reported Sidious (yeah, Mace, that worked out real good ... I'm sure Kit Fisto and the others would totally agree with your judgement on that one), and then was SURPRISED when Anakin didn't save him? How egotistical can you be? Bah. Just let the guy die.
