Wotcha,
I bought one of these Interactive R2-D2s about 2 'n' half to 3 years ago and it's still going strong! It's just so 'Gorram Shiny!'
I've had trouble coming up with anything to Blog about, My well of creativity is as dry as a nun's.. Habit!
The idea of this Blog was brought on by a conversation I had with a couple of mates on a non Star Wars related subject.. Gary Glitter and Michael Jackson. Now I know that you all know who Jackson is! but Glitter, If you don't know (apart from being rhyming slang for a toilet) is a former singer that was fairly big in England in the 70's and 80's, but fell off of his pedestal in a quite spectacular fashion for being accused of being a big fat dirty nonce when he was caught with, let's say 'Inappropriate' pictures of children in the all-together on his computer.. if you get my meaning. And has just 'gone down' for allegedly forcing his unpleasantries on two adolescent Taiwanese girls. Incidently he was put away for just the 2 years.. I reckon they should have taken a rusty razor blade to his knackers.. but that's not for now!
The point of the discussion mainly being that both of my friends said that because Glitter is a dirty old man they won't listen to his music anymore, And
if Michael Jackson was convicted for the alleged thing that he was accused of but later acquitted for, my friend's would have boycotted his music too!
I opposed this line of thinking with the argument 'but they made bloody good music and whatever they get up to in their personnal life wasn't going to change that! No matter how sick, depraved and demented it may be!' I could understand them saying that they would not buy any subsequent records the pair may have released, because funding a 'known' paedo isn't what should be going on at all, but if you already have an album and you like it why toss it away? It's like cutting off your nose to spite your face! It doesn't effectively achieve anything apart from clearing a hole or two in your CD rack!
(For the record, I reckon Jacko's Innocent!).. *Ahem!?!*
Having just read that bit back to myself, the next bit doesn't seem at all relevant, but I'm gonna go with it.
As a Collector, I only try to get my grubby little mitts on the things that I really want. I am a long way away from being a completist! (except for the Unleashed line, they are just too cool!)
I have three principles when it comes to collecting.
* I have a tendancy for buying anything to do with Artoo, Boba Fett, Ep III Clones, Stormtroopers, Threepio and Vader.
*Most of the other characters, I can either take or leave depending on whether or not the item interests me. Obi-Wan, Luke, Chewie, Han.. etc.
*Then there's the characters I don't really care for too much, Which I won't buy out of some seemingly subconcious principle. I don't own a single thing dedicated to Jar Jar, Ep I Anakin, or any of the minor characters like the Ep II Bar scene crowd.
Now when I look at
DJ Maul's Toyroom tour I can't help but be impressed. It's fantastic to see such a broad Spectrum of Star wars Merchandise, And Kudos to him!
I wouldn't dream of picking up some of the toys and things that get churned out because of my personal problems, either with the character or the style of the toy. I am not a fan of the Burger King toys because I just don't like the style of them, but they're good for kids (Young and Old alike)

and the other side I don't like the Mr Potato head range because to me it's just cheap, opportunistic commercialism, but hey, each to their own! Wouldn't it be boring if every body liked the same thing.
Reading it all back.. There seems to be no connection between the top and bottom points.. funny how the mind works, isn't it?..No? Just me then!?!
Well, if you got this far, Thanks for reading!
Keep Smiling
