Curse You, Dan Wallace!
This entry is similar to one on Bob's Blog, over at the encyclopedia website. I just think it merits another nod.

I'm busily trying to enter the data from The New Essential Chronology by Dan Wallace. He was nice enough to give me a mention on his Acknowledgements page, but darned if this book isn't chock-full of information. Especially during the pre-Republic era and the early years of the Old Republic, it seems like there are 20 or more things to check out on each page! With the book coming in a just over 200 pages, I've definitely got my work cut out for me.

Ah well, what am I to do? I'll just keep plugging along. It's fun to learn more about the early parts.

If you've downloaded a recent version of the encyclopedia database, you've noticed that there is a field called "Era" that's now being filled in. I think that I'm going to use this as a sort of chronology marker, but I'm not sure how to do it. I'd like to (at least) mark down all the historical events there, in the order that they occur. However, I don't want to get stuck with a hand-numbering system, where adding something in the middle means re-numbering all subsequent events. Anybody know how to write an Access macro to handle this?
