No, it's not a newly-found unit of the Grand Army of the Republic. It's actually a moment of celebration... The
CUSWE has just topped 55,000 entries! The next edition is being wrapped up as I type, as I'm crawling through the Hyperspace supplement to
Star Wars Insider magazine, issue 88. The 55,001st entry in the CUSWE is about the
Emperor's Eyes, and reads:
"this was the term used to describe certain individuals who were trained by the Prophets of the Dark Side, during the era of the New Order. Those individuals who showed a great aptitude in using the Force to peer into the future were elevated to the rank of Emperor's Eyes, and were charged with helping Emperor Palpatine understand the consequences of his actions. Perhaps the only known of the Emperor's Eyes was the prophet Merilli, who could literally transport her mind into the future, allowing her to manipulate future events. It was later believed that Triclops was also one of the Emperor's Eyes."
If it wasn't 10:00am here in sunny Durham, NC, USA, I'd be popping a bottle of the bubbly. Instead, I'm sipping a luke-warm cup of coffee on my last day of vacation, busily typing away on encyclopedia stuff.
Hooray!
