If you've had a chance to pick up a copy of The New Essential Guide to Droids, you've probably seen that Dan Wallace has done another fantastic job of chronicling another aspect of the Star Wars universe. If, by chance, you've checked out the Acknowledgements page, you'll see a name that's familiar...

Once again, I have to tip my hat to Dan. There's no secret that he's been a hero of mine for a while... ever since he published his own Planets website on the (relatively) ancient Internet. As near as I can tell, Dan was the last of the "amateur" authors who were chosen to write in the Star Wars universe. After Dan, LucasFilm began requiring established authors for new books and media.

We've been sorta working together for almost as many years, swapping ideas and thoughts on a variety of topics. His guidance and input on the CUSWE has been invaluable. For him to acknowledge me in his books (and, believe me, I'm on the small end of the "contributions great and small") means that I must be doing something right.

Thanks, Dan! :8}

The Droid guide is indeed a beauty. I'm only about a third of the way through, but I'll jump ahead and check out your acknowledgement. You're definitely doing something right.
