Lightsiders vs. Darksiders
After moving around CIV for a week (yes, I did get up from the table once in a while!), one thing became apparent: the Jedi costumers in attendance were nowhere near as popular as the stormies and clones in attendance. I spent three days dressed as Jedi Master Bob, and only a few people seemed to notice. (Thanks to the folks who did... my Aunt Susie worked hard on my costume!) However, every single stormie or clone that moved passed the 501st booth next to us got mobbed for pictures. The only folks who wanted my pictures were CUSWE fans!

It got me thinking... why do the bad guys get so much attention, while the good guys just sort of blend into the crowd? Heck, look at the picture choices in the Costumes section of the pictures for these blogs, and you will not see very many Jedi Masters, if any.

The in-universe answer is probably a good one. The Jedi didn't want to draw much attention to themselves, at least those of the Old Republic. The idea was to simply be part of the scenery, and dish out justice as necessary. The stormies, on the other hand, were the visible symbol of the Empire. Mess with them, and you mess with the galaxy.

However, shouldn't the good guys get more credit in the "real" world? I mean' c'mon, we're the good guys!

Thoughts?

Bob
